KSP obtained master plan approval for twelve (12) unit comprehensive permit project in the Town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The subject project is part of the Matunuck Village area and received a great deal of community, conservation commission, and planning board resistance.
The development area, being contained in a special management protection district, within the jurisdiction of CRMC, had previously been identified as an area beyond carrying capacity and/or the ability to develop given that it was being characterized as an area of critical concern.
Despite having started as a very contentious development, KSP Law, with the assistance of a land use planning expert, landscape architect and professional civil engineer with particular experience relative to environmental concerns in coastal properties, was able to obtain a vested master plan providing the developer with the density required to make the project economically feasible.
